Type your essay here. Remember to indent each paragraph using the ‘tab’ key on the keyboard. No section header is needed for this first paragraph because it is assumed that the first paragraph is the introduction. This introduction should present the purpose of the paper and give a sneak preview of the content. Notice that APA 7 rules no longer require the title of the paper on the content pages.
Section Heade
All content must be formatted using Times New Roman 12 point font and double-spaced lines. A proper paragraph is five to eight complete sentences. The first line of all paragraphs should be indented. Section headers are a great way to logically group your writing into focused concepts and ideas. There should be no more than 6 section headings in most academic papers.
Paragraph Formatting
Once you have written a paragraph, right click anywhere on the text in that paragraph. Select Paragraph from the list. You will be presented with a dialog box where you can set the format of the paragraph. Use this graphic as your guide to set your paragraphs co
ectly.
Conclusion
Just as all papers should have an introduction paragraph, there should be a conclusion paragraph as well. Summarize the major findings of the paper here to close out the essay. Double check that you wrote enough content to meet the minimum requirements. If an assignment asks for 2 pages, write two full pages, plus another paragraph to spill the content over into a new page beyond the minimum.
References
Type your references here. Remember that they need to have a hanging indent. Use a reference generator or ask AI to help you with the reference format. Remember that every reference should also be cited inline in the content per APA 7 rules. Example references:
