Introduction to Time Series Analysis and Forecasting
Time series analysis is used by a number of companies to analyze the data over a period of time. For instance, the data related to the sales, profit, and earnings of the organization over some time can be analyzed easily by considering the use of time series analysis. The forecasting of the demand related to the different products can also be done by considering the use of the statistical approach and several tools can be used for this purpose such as data analysis, tools like Tableau and IBM Watson and there is an add-in in MS Excel that can be used to analyze the data statistically in this approach. Data analysis is used to analyze the data related to electronic vehicles. Different forecasting algorithms can be used for this purpose such as regression analysis, moving average analysis, and machine learning approaches that can forecast the sales and demand of the company. The alignments between the different channels and needs of the products can be done via forecasting algorithms. 
 Data set used 
There are different attributes available in the selected data and this data is available on the US government's official website and it is downloaded from there only.  This data includes the details related to the state or province of the country, electronic vehicle ID, range of the electronic vehicle, id of the region, and many attributes that define the electronic range of the vehicle are also included in this data set. This data is freely available on the official website of the US government and it can be easily used for analysis purposes. Huge amount of data is available under this data set and in the analysis regression analysis is performed on two different attributes because linear regression is performed in this analysis. Therefore, two specific attributes are selected in this analysis that are year and range of electric vehicles. Both attributes are available in statistical form. Therefore, statistical analysis like regression analysis is quite easier to perform on these attributes, the positive and negative relationship between both the attributes are analyzed effectively by considering the use of data analysis and an axle, and the dependency of one attribute on another attribute is analyzed easily by the use of this regression analysis. The forecasting can also be done based on this model that is built in Excel.
